This new addition to our Contract has now been approved by the Board of Trustees and is in effect. All part-time faculty need to know that you will get reimbursed for the time you spend evaluating students’ achievement of SLO’s as verified by their answers on the final you administer. You will need to complete a PAF which can be obtained from your CCA VP on your campus.
MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING
between Coast Community College Association (CCA), Chapter 1152 and Coast Community College District (the District)
The purpose of this Memorandum of Understanding is to clarify the relationship between the part-time faculty members and the production, evaluation, and analysis of Student Learning Outcomes (SLO’s).
Article XIV(a) Professional Development shall be amended: “…Unit members may apply for a stipend, subject to the limitations of overall funding, of up to $100, at the usual non-instructional rate to attend a District/College-sponsored workshop of two hours or more or to develop and/or analyze student learning outcomes (SLO’s) according to (e).
(e) Part-time faculty may be asked to write Student Learning Outcomes (SLO’s) for their courses. However, they have the right to refuse without fear of reprisal. If they agree to write SLO’s, then they will be paid their usual non-instructional rate for the number of hours agreed upon by the Dean and the faculty member.
